My granddaughter and I had lunch. It was the perfect place to go because she had some work to finish and needed Internet connection. We weren't rushed out- it was busy but not mobbed!
It is a fabulous place to eat. However, I think it is no longer possible to eat for under 10.00 unless it is soup and a roll - which admittedly is delicious. In particular, the polenta cake and sausage roll seem to have been downsized and are now very expensive - please reconsider the pricing and size of some items, as these seem a little over the top. I do realise that the cost of living crisis is very real for all businesses at the moment.
Tasty gluten free and vegan pea and mint soup served with gluten free oatcakes and chilli jam. Very helpful member of staff checked allergens. Lovely sitting outside at picnic tables. Just under 13 for lunch for the two of us.

It’s a cafe hidden deep into the garden, the staff don’t really know about it when we asked but we were adamant on going there because we saw awesome reviews. Really nice spot for food & quieter than the main food hall. Thank you team we had a lovely time. The scones and the jam were jobble-worthy
I really loved the coffee here, we ordered a blackberry and matcha cake with a latte and mocha. The cafe has a nice and cosy feel to it with a lot of tables indoor and outdoor.
This cafe offers a lot of healthy options. The staff are fine. Place is quiet and peaceful at least when I was there maybe due to the fact that it was half past three in the afternoon (but it can be very busy before that). It is accessible for people with wheelchair and good for people with kids as there is a wide landscape (giving Bridgeton vibe) just in front of Inverleith House which is right beside the cafe. You can let your kids on the loose as you can watch them anyway from the outdoor tables of the cafe. A bit of overpriced but please note it is expected in a place that is located right in the heart of The Royal Botanic Garden, plus this is Edinburgh and the pastries are homemade.
Lovely place for afternoon tea. Ideal to spend your afternoon reading indoors or outdoors with a nice coffee and a lovely sweet treat. My fav!
